Offering products for diverse skin tones, Urban Skin Rx® was founded in 2010 by Rachel Roff, a licensed medical esthetician. Roff attended the National Aesthetics Institute and The International Dermal Institute where she received postgraduate certification in skin color and pigmentation. After working at a medical spa as a laser technician, she noticed the lack of services and education for skin concerns in darker skin tones.

Passionate to see more inclusivity in the beauty industry, she opened the Urban Medspa and Laser center in 2006 in Charlotte, NC, where she was able to successfully reach a more diverse clientele with her knowledge and expertise. This led her to ultimately develop the Urban Skin Rx® skin care line, which includes more potent and higher concentration formulas that specifically address the skin care needs of women of color while also offering corrective skin care products for all skin tones and colors. The line includes various facial, body and nighttime treatments.
